Dinosaur themed birthday party

Hi Guys, hope this is the correct place for this.
My twin girls (yes girls) have requested a dinosaur party for their 4th birthday. I have hired a local hall and bouncy castle. We are planning to do a few of the usual games and a little disco just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to make it dinosaur themed. Any food ideas, any decorating ideas and what do i need for party bags etc. It is their first party and i want it to be memorable and don't mind having to make quite a bit of effort but like everyone nowadays i need it to be as cheap as possible.
Any ideas gratefully received.

Good for them!
The pound shop/ poundland somethimes has tubes of plastic dinosaurs. Can you have some sort of dinosaur craft thing going on, like a massive dinosaur drawn out that they can colour and stick things to?
Pin the tail on the dinosaur is a must!0 -
Why don't you cut out of card some dinosuar face mask and thread them on elastic and then give thm to the kids to decorate? i'm sure you could find a free template online x:jBaby Boy born December 20120

Totally!!
Poundland (or other places I'm sure) often have sandwich cutters which make two dinosaurs out of a slice of bread. Am not explaining that very well but hopefully you'll know what I mean.

For the party bags put in some Dinosaur Poop! It's a variation of the Reindeer Poop bags on the Old Style Christmas thread. Basically put together little bags of chocolate raisins with a hand made dinosaur label on it! Not sure if the link will work as it's my first time of trying to link a thread but hopefully you'll get the picture.
Dinosaur dig? Get a large bowl/bin/bucket (placed on top of a few bin liners) and fill it with play sand. Provide some sand spades and the children can dig for dinosaurs.
And yes, definitely, pin the tail on the dinosaur!Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it!!:eek:0 -
Bernard Matthews turkey dinosaurs, and Everybody Walk the Dinosaur by Was (Not Was) on repeat. You literally do not need to do anything else, just kick back and think of what a badass party it's going to be.Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.

I've got to go and get some now, I live 3 mins from a Poundland. I might be 34 but I'm so up for making my sandwiches into dinosaurs0 -
I remember seeing these on Amazon, ages ago: http://www.amazon.co.uk/10-Genuine-Fossil-Dinosaur-Certificate/dp/B005L2OQK2/
Although they also do geodes and fossil teeth, which look more obvious than the dinosaur fossils (as no one is going to sell you a really obvious relic at a bargain price).
Oh, and so long as you manage some sort of dinosaur cake (green food colouring and ready-made sugarpaste should work wonders) then the rest of the party food can be standard fare. Theme your colours in natural habitat shades - maybe greens and browns?0 -
You could do a competition to see who can come up with the best name for a dinosaur?
things like do-you-think-he-saurus? thea-saurus etc
Also play Jurassic Park DVD or do an easy quiz on it?
Musical scares? (sit down when they hear a dinosaur roar?)0 -
Mini cornish pasties make great stegosauruses!
