Bitsy please make sure your DH doesn't take it personally if he doesn't get an acknowledgement to job applications; when Mr LW was out of work, he applied for over 300 posts in the 11 month period, and I could count on the fingers of one hand the number that sent an acknowledgement.

It's frightful bad manners, but it is the norm these days, it seems. Your DH really mustn't let this aspect of the process get to him.:o

    Hi.

After yesterday's mammoth efforts today is back to what we loosely call normal.
Spent the morning at a meeting about the drop-in ( the council think they can help with some funding - we hadn't even asked, :eek:they had just heard what we are doing.

Lunch jacket potatoes, cheese and salad. "We don't have any apple pie, do we?" says the Rev sadly. NO WE DON'T, I'm trying to lose weight.

Intended to finish off the ironing this afternoon but the iron, possibly in revenge for being overworked yesterday, spat nasty brown stains all over a clean blouse. I drained it and tried to remember how to clean it. I'm sure vinegar featured in it somewhere, vinegar usually does. So I've squirted some inside and left it to contemplate its bad behaviour. With a bit of luck and a good rinse out it will be usable again.

BB: Loved the poem. In my experience, (vast) Mothers feel much worse on school leaving assemblies. We always had boxes of tissues handy.

Camelot: You crack me up, honestly you do. 'Must clean the microwave,' Love it! I shall repeat it like a mantra as I step over things and round things in the minefield that is my kitchen.:rotfl:

    May call in again later.

Have trouble remembering how to fly.

    Evening all

Thanks for the well wishes. Feeling better today, still groggy though, and shattered!

Took the work kids to Cardiff today to a company's call centre who kindly offered to do mock interviews with them. They all dressed up smart, and looked really good! We had a tour of the building, got told the history then had lunch, and then in the afternoon half had interviews whilst the other half listened into calls, then they swapped over. The company were fantastic to us, and the kids all did excellent in their mock interviews!

Shattered from the 2hour return journey drive. Going to have a nap I think.

OS wise - dishes to wash, something simple for tea.

    Have a good night all

Bitsy, sorry to hear that DH is so down, there is nothing worse than having to stay in a job when you know that you have been made redundant.DH had to take a job at half his previous wage, when he was made redundant, and he is still there, but it is a job and we do manage. It is early days yet and hopefully he will find something soon. He is right about the holiday it will do you all good. ((((Hugs)))) and positive vibes.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

    Evening everyone

Where has the day gone, its just gone too fast and the weather has been quite pleasant. Went to gym at 8, then hairdressers that a friend recommended at 10, had cut & colour for half the price I used to pay, she has done a fantastic cut too, I am really pleased. Then came home had lunch and walked woofer for an hour, then spent 2 hours in garden mowing lawn and doing some weeding. I feel so tired tonight.

Os today gardening, cleaned kitchen,wm on and hung on line, made omlette for lunch and sorted holiday clothes.
