1.Get all your info as to what was charged by the Halifax and what the policy covered you for.try and recall the exact circs in which the sale took place ( ours occurred in the halifax bank branch, we were able to give names and dates - i dont know if this was helpful to our case but it wont do you any harm )

2.think back as to who you worked for, what benefits you had as an emplyee ( ie sick pay, PHI ( private health insurance ), redundancy cover etc ).

    3. Try and recall what you partners benefits were if applicable.

    4. What savings did you have in the event of acc/sick/redundancy to cover you.

    5. Did you have any personal health insurance cover/BUPA etc.

If you find you had significant cover and assurances from all angles when the policy was sold to you, then you may be able to argue that it was mis-sold. I am no expert on this, there are many more on here who know so much more. All i am stating is the way we approached it.I didnt go at it from the "she said this and we said this angle " because that is so hard to prove.

Once you have all the info and can look at what the policy covered you for, then you can make a decision yourself on whether its worth pursuing.

    Good luck my friend.
    Excellent advice!:T
