HiYa Roger,
"""those over 65 at introduction""" I looked at this some time ago the only flakey semi-negative reference I could find was something like - providing they still qualify which could of course mean anything if the sneaky sods change the baseline or descriptors or whatever.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. I assume that this means that (on current plans) some children will be transitioning from DLA to PIP well into the 2020s.
And of course, those on legacy benefits - those over 65 at introduction - will remain on DLA/AA.
As a side-note - if you have mobility problems, and are approaching 65, claim DLA now!
You won't be able to after this.
To address the other point raised - Anyone on income-based ESA - support or WRAG - will be migrated over to UC.
Those on contributory ESA will not automatically.
The support group is only different as it is not time-limited to one year if it is contributory ESA.
So if you are on contributions based ESA in the support group UC will not have any impact? Am I interpreting that correctly?Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -

It will not have direct effect, as I understand it - until a change of circumstances occurs.
I am unsure how the ancillary bits of UC will work round ESA.
For example - what if you have housing costs, and how will the new localised housing benefits work?0
