Universal Credit Calculator

If you need to test your circumstances you'll find it is here its brand new and a bit crude, [will be an ongoing refinement] but it will hopefully give~a~clue.

Is universal credit going to take savings into account which current benefits do not?

It must do to some extent, as housing and council tax benefit is included in the Universal Credit
Opinions are like bottoms - We all have one, just some stink more than others

Service Attributable Pension - War Pension - War Pensioners Unemployability Supplement - War Pensioners Invalidity Allowance - War Pensioners Comforts Allowance - War Pensioners Mobility Allowance - War Pensioners Child Allowance - Housing Benefit - Council Tax Benefit

Yes, it will take capital savings into account, I believe its £16,000 anything over this and no one will be able to claim UC

It's not a very good calculator. i loved this part of the results: Estimated Child Support Award
    £ 108.75

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Aye how they came to that figure is beyond me as I only get £46 at the moment.
I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!

If its up by x then something else will be down by a corresponding x. The current norm is that out of work families and others receive it via the premia in IBJSA or CTC. It will end up that regardless of the source of the payment the totals will align.

I am confused by all of these changes:o

What is PIP? Is this the same thing as Universal Credit?

I thought if you were on ESA in the support group nothing was going to change, but now it looks as though it could.

    - no PIP [personal Independence Payment] and UC [Universal Credit] are different benefits and are coming in at different times
    - PIP is in fact the benefit that gets the nation ready for the really big change called UC
    - to help you and others understand this really confusing timeline for the introduction of the Welfare Reforms
    - here are 3 different roadmaps that cover the changes to all current benefits - they all lead to [UC] Universal credit

.1. - this is where we are at in general and what will happen in the future

To add to the above - PIP replaces DLA for working age claimants.
I assume that this means that (on current plans) some children will be transitioning from DLA to PIP well into the 2020s.

And of course, those on legacy benefits - those over 65 at introduction - will remain on DLA/AA.

As a side-note - if you have mobility problems, and are approaching 65, claim DLA now!
You won't be able to after this.

To address the other point raised - Anyone on income-based ESA - support or WRAG - will be migrated over to UC.

Those on contributory ESA will not automatically.

The support group is only different as it is not time-limited to one year if it is contributory ESA.
