is that the one about the toothbrush?
Please make sure that you let all your collegues, and management know about the PPC buisness model, the more people know the truth the better. From the Plain Language Commission:

Rest assured I'm using all the social media outlets at my disposal. And, you know, actually talking to people and stuff.
It's just the management company don't seem to get it!0 -
And it goes on...
Just had a chance meeting with a management company (MC) rep and a UKPC agent, who just happened to be at the development at the same time.
I've provided all the info on this board to the MC, quoted the harassment act etc, but they still refuse to acknowledge how meaningless the tickets are.
The MC rep even called the 0870 number to speak to someone in the UKPC office about these points, but the person in the office kept asking for a reference number about a ticket. I didn't give one and said this is about the system in general. And all they kept replying with is that unpaid tickets get dealt with by debt collectors and small claims court etc. I told them and the MC rep about the FOI request, but they didn't seem to care.
I asked the MC rep to look into the whole PPC issue, to which they said they have asked UKPC for a response, but wouldn't do any research themselves!
As none of this was getting through I asked what would they do if they received a ticket for £45 for overstaying in a car park for one minute, would they pay or question it and research if it was fair or not? The MC rep said they would just pay it!
We went round the houses talking about contract law, DVLA, BPA, etc, but the MC rep still wasn't believing anything I was saying
This is getting frustrating, other than providing them with all this what else can I do to get through to them?0 -
How about this to show them who they are in bed with:

and this as it's a barrister's opinion:

This is a private land fine. They are unenforceable. This is not a parking fine however it may look. These companies are private firms that have no more right to punish you for the manner of your parking than your neighbour does. Only the police or the local Council can do that.

Write to them (the management company) in proper writing (paper, ink etc., all that quaint stuff!)
Tell them that you have to date received X threatening letters from UKPC (attach copies) and you regard this as harassment.
Further tell them that you are considering bringing a case against UKPC requesting compensation for this harassment.
Remind them that they are liable for the actions of their agent, and state that you are putting them (the management company) on notice that you will name them as co-defendants in any action you bring with respect to this harassment.
That should get their attention. And stop messing about with emails and chats, scare the bejeesus out of them by going formal.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Due to the nature of this board, people sometimes post incorrect information.
I have no problem with anyone being wrong. However, I do have a problem with anyone deliberately misinforming people for unlawful financial gain.
I believe that "ArnoldPringle” has a connection with the private parking industry. If so, then it is possible that any comments they make may have a hidden agenda.
The usual culprit is Michael Perkins, the owner of Combined Parking Solutions (CPS).
Posting for financial gain is against the rules of the MSE forums.
Posting on internet forums using aliases is against the British Parking Association (BPA)’s own guidelines ...

You want to mention to your management company that UKPC recently had to repay 100's of motorists in and around Wakefield because they were ILLEGALLY ticketing vehicles parked on public roads. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0

I would suggest you settle this debt.
haha, yeah, good one, I'll get right on it...0 -
Forgot to mention:
I also pointed out to the management company that the UKPC agent violated para 8.1 of the BPA Code of Practice ("Any vehicles ... must be marked clearly with your livery"), but they weren't interested in that either.
The agent was also parked in the space belonging to a flat (surely this is tresspass?). When I questioned the agent he just said he's allowed to park there and the MC rep just ignored the issue.
I think an actual letter to the MC (possibly the CEO) is now my next step, as per bazster's suggestion.0 -
I'd suggest that the OP creates a mailshot detailing the fact that you do not need to pay a PPC invoice and how the MC can be held liable as a co-defendant in a harassment claim, then post one through every door on the whole development.
After all, nothing works better than a bit of education.Never Knowingly Understood.
