    you don't just add a spigot to a p trap you buy a spigot trap in the first place.

    You can just by an additional spigot entry, the vertical bit above the U bend in the photo, and add it in line with existing pipework.

    I did this when we added a dishwasher to the washing machine and effectively had two spigots on one trap.
