Advice please!!! Changing/upgrading phone contracts
I've got less than a month until my contract with orange runs out- I'm currently paying £21.50p/m for unlimited texts, 500mb data but only 100 mins.
I've found lots of great deals online on sites like Omio and money supermarket, but as these come from elsewhere I was wondering if I could legitimately quote these in an Orange shop to try and get a better deal.
My family get free home broadband from Orange because of my contract, but I don't know if this would be cancelled out if I took up a deal from one of these sites as opposed to from Orange directly.
I though I knew a fair amount about teachnology but I'm lost with this one!
If anyone could help I'd be very grateful!
Thanks x

Firstly if you cease to be an Orange customer I believe you will just get billed the full rate (its discounted for customers)
You can quote anything you like to the Oragne shop but you might be better to phone up 150 and speak to the upgrades department. If they cant give you a decent deal then request your PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) which is valid for 30 days and should trigger a call from their retentions department who have the power to offer better deals than the upgrades department.
If you decide to change networks you will need the PAC to keep your number and of course you need to give 30 days notice to Orange too (which you do if you request your PAC). If the PAC is not used within 30 days then you continue on your existing contract as before.
Edit: You cant take out a new Orange contract via a 3rd party site and keep your number. If you want to do this you need to move your number onto a PAYG sim card with another network first and then move it back again to Orange.0
