Child tax credit and child benefit increases are worth approximately £10.38 per week to me apparently. It isnt enough to cover the price rises in council tax, water rates, gas and electric (regardless of food and clothing) RIGHT NOW. When it is actually paid in April 2009 it will be less than worthless.

The government isnt doing a damn thing to lift children out of poverty.

indications are that you will be £1153.8 better off.

almost £1100 extra in tax credits, £60 extra in child benefit, then income tax and NI almost cancel each other out.
despite it saying that petrol will not go up, every petrol station near me today has added a penny on already.
  • ....Indications are that we wil be £357.97 better off

worse off form OH smoking and drinking, but better off pverall because of £20 extra Child Benefit, and change in income tax.....

All well and good, with the increase in utility/council tax/food etc, it will soon be gone!
