Not many events in central London though are there?

Quite a few around the mall and hyde park..

But OP - you shouldnt really have many problems on that route to kings x - most people will be heading East on the Jubilee line and you will be jumping one stop to Green Park and then the vic line up so I see no reason why you should find it busier except for at the tube stations when entering at Waterloo.

If you are that fussed about a refund just hand in your season ticket, work at home for 8 weeks then get a new one when the games are finished.TfL will not be giving you any refunds unless your tubes are delayed as per their charter

If the tubes are bad I would suggest walking to Blackfriars and getting the train to St Pancras. I do the opposite journey every morning.
Ten minute walk and ten minutes on the train - they're every four minutes in peak time.
Alternatively, can you get off at Vauxhall and pick up the Victoria Line or don't you stop there?
    Can I help?

In last nights Evening Standard it said that tube compensation is being suspended for the duration of the Olympics.

I agree you can walk between the 2 locations if necessary. I regularly walk from K+ to Bank or Victoria and back. At Kings Cross yesterday they were again giving out free maps that showed the walking time as circles on the map (5min, 15min, etc etc).

The marathon, for one, goes right through the City, which means all the roads will be closed.

Both marathons are at the weekend so are hardly going to impact on the city workers the vast majority of whom work Monday to Friday.

    Not really an issue.

Cycling road race and time trials take place during the week. Triathlon technical rehearsal takes place during the week... all will involve road closures.

Thanks for comments all - Think I'm going to have a go on Monday - and see what happens... :rotfl:

Not true. Men's Road Race tomorrow (Sat 28th), Women's Road Race Sun 29th; both time trials are on Wed 1st, but not in central London (Hampton Court).
    It's only numbers.

You can still claim if the train itself is delayed - e.g. you get on a tube and it breaks down in a tunnel for an hour.

They were saying that you can't claim if you're delayed due to passenger congestion at stations. So if it takes you an hour to board the train in the first place, you can't claim.
