Dont make an offer until you have seen the terms they are offering, often they will add interest and charges, which if you have an agreement now wont exist on the first.

I didn't think debt recovery company was allowed to inflate the debt any more And could only claim the fixed amount I've have it in righting from the money shop no more interest will be added as long as I keep to the agreement

Fat load of good it was as they have broken it

I've just found this after researching them as I just got a call from them from a Northern Ireland number, which is 'odd' as the girl I spoke to wasn't from here (I'm in NI) by the sound of it,and it doesn't show they have an office here.
Anyway, apparently they sent me a letter...not received...From what I gather they 'buy' old debts past due.

Either ignore it - or write back to state they further to your letter of x date they still have not provided proof of the alleged debt and that therefore this is a formal complaint about their harrasment of you and that you are reporting them to the OFT and trading standards.

In relation to the £1 - if they state that they are requesting this in order to provide the consumer credit agreement (CCA) then you might want to state you have not requested a copy of any alleged agreement, you dispute that you owe any money to their client and that they are obliged to provide proof that you owe them/their client money.

Do not pay them £1. They may try to use this as an acknowledgement of the debt in the future.

Dear Sir/Madam

Ref: XXXXXXXX

You have contacted us regarding the account with the above reference number, which you claim is owed by ourselves.

We would point out that we have no knowledge of any such debt being owed to Dollar Financial Group.

We are familiar with the ‘Office of Fair Trading Debt Collection Guidance’ which states that it is unfair to send demands for payment to an individual when it is uncertain that they are the debtor in question.

We would also point out that the OFT say under the Guidance that it is unfair to pursue third parties for payment when they are not liable. In not ceasing collection activity whilst investigating a reasonably queried or disputed debt you are using deceptive/and or unfair methods.

Furthermore, ignoring and/or disregarding claims that debts have been settled or are disputed and continuing to make unjustified demands for payment amounts to physical/psychological harassment.

We would ask that no further contact be made concerning the above accounts unless you can provide evidence as to our liability for the debt in question.

We await your written confirmation that this matter is now closed. Otherwise we will have no option but to make a complaint to the trading standards department and consider informing the OFT of your actions.

We look forward to your reply.

Yours faithfully
