Change of contract with 3

I have a contract with 3, with which up until last Saturday (14th) I have been able to use my monthly data allowance when I tether my mobile with my laptop.

This has now been blocked because a system limitation (I think they mean error) had allowed me to do this when it wasn't (unknown to me) part of my actual contract. I was able to do this for 4 months and I want to know if this constitutes it being my actual contract because it was the service supplied regardless of what they meant to supply.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

    Does the contract you agreed to specifically say its excluded?
    If not then you may be able to argue that as they have provided it for 4 months that it constitutes part of the contract.
  • It does say on their website that tethering is not available for my contract, but I was sold the phone and contract after being told that I could use all my data allowance for tethering and was able to do this for the first 3 months of the new contract.

    Did you buy it directly from 3? Do you have anything in writing? Webchat transcript or email saying you can use it for tethering? If not then you are probably stuffed.
  • I did by it directly from 3, I need to check the paperwork at home.

    Ask them to listen and/or provide a transcript of the call when you were told you could tether.
