Flat/House mates who leave the Front door open

What do you think of this? Does it sound too harsh, not harsh enough?
I am not the best at writing letters with a professional tone.
Dear,
I am writing this letter as I am concerned about the security [STRIKE]about [/STRIKE]of the above address.
On many occasions I have found the front door left open overnight by one of the residents of the building.
I have advised all residents to please ensure the front door is closed, but it appears this has had no effect.
I would like you to install a door closer to the front door to counteract[STRIKE]avoid [/STRIKE]residents’ inability to close the front door. I would also like you to install an extra bolt[STRIKE]s[/STRIKE] on my personal door, as my flat is on the ground floor and easy to access if the front door is left open [STRIKE]for any threats[/STRIKE].
I believe it [STRIKE]this [/STRIKE]will be in your best interest as a landlord to provide this security.
As a landlord, it is also your responsibility to ensure tenants are following the terms of the contract, which state[STRIKE]s[/STRIKE] that the property is to be left secure.
Please ensure the requested work [STRIKE]this[/STRIKE] is carried out within 10 days. I will be forced to withdraw any rent due if this is not acted upon.
Yours sincerely,
I've fixed some of the grammar in the version above, but like the others I think it's a bit heavy handed.
What would be wrong with something simple, like...
"Dear Landlord,
Despite repeatedly asking the other residents of 221b Baker Street to close the door overnight, I frequently find the door wide open in the morning.
Can you please look into what remedial action can be taken to ensure the future security of the property.
Many thanks
J Watson. "0 -
Thank you everyone - good and bad comments. I will write up the letter and post. I will keep you updated.0

You still haven't answered the question that I asked and that tbs624 repeated - does the LL own the entire property? If not, then your letter is a waste of time.0
