Afternoon allHave given myself a massive kick up the backside. I felt so ashamed yesterday when I really thought about what a struggle life is for so many of you and what you manage to get done in spite of it.:(
So today I'm tackling long put-off jobs with... well... not enthusiasm exactly but certainly more determination. Thank you LW, Hilstep et al. You have shamed me into action.:o
Monnagran - don't be so hard on yourself! You do such a lot (voluntarily) for the community :A far more important than ironing. Do what I do, don't buy stuff that needs ironing, or accept the creases :rotfl:
Feeling a bit dizzy today with the vertigo. Not sure why. But I have 2 different hospital appts for it next week so will see what they say, won't hold my breath!
I had a fun morning in work, teaching work kids how to write CVs. They are a good bunch, and we have a laugh. This afternoon is just office based, still trying to sort out the mess with the student social worker I had.
OS wise - not much needs doing TBH :j. Dinner will either be quick stirfry or HM meal from freezer.
Have a good day all

Mg - Make as many of those rubbish jobs easier.....Re ironing....As soon as the WM has finished take it out flick it hard (your know what i mean - i hope )fold it all or put straight into TD. Once TD has finished get it straight out, fold and smooth into a pile

FLutterby & bargainbird. You are both kind but I make too many excuses for myself. And it's not just ironing that doesn't get done!

Afternoon All
Had a lazy day today, mainly because it is teeming down and my joints are stiff and feel as though they are on fire. Still I have to accept the bad days as well as the good. I have watched a few DVDs. I let DS cook dinner at lunch time, because he wanted to and I must say he did a lovely dinner of lamb chops, new potatoes, broccoli and carrots with gravy.
Hester I hope all is ok with you hun (((hugs)))
Welcome cbsexec
Bitsy It sounds like DD has something worrying her. How is DH's job hunting going?
Oh hell this has taken an age to type, I am ready for some tramadol and an hour's nap. BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I had a letter through from the O/therapist which is good news in a funny sort of way .She reccomends that I have a stair-lift installed and a low level flush shower installed instead of me clambering around over the tiny bath edge and hanging on to a rail whilst I shower with one hand:rotfl: You wouldn't believe it unless you saw the contortions I get up to to get clean in my telephone-box sized bathroom
:)
Its an 8 page report with all the boxes marked and ticked, and I now will give it to my eldest DD as she is dealing with the Masonic Samaritan fund who said they would assist in any way they can, which is lovely of them (my late OH was 'on the square' for over 40 odd years)and I know its something that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later (I think she (the O/T) is of the opinion that I may fall and do myself a damage bless her )but to see it in writing that I'm basically clapped out is a bit sad really.:o
Still, if I get what I need I suppose its all to the good ,I will just have to come to terms with the fact my joints don't 'bounce' as well as they did 50 years ago:)Anno Domini gallops onwards, but I still feel 22 in my head,
although I'm no where near it in my body. What a bu$$er it is getting old ,but I suppose it beats the alternative .
Anyway enough of feeling sorry for myself its onwards and upwards. The boys break up tomorrow so I will be a busy bee for the next 6 weeks at least (that is, busier than usual):D
Sky clouded over this afternoon and it looks as though the rain will be back again soon ,still the sun was nice while it lasted and its only 30 days tomorrow until we go on holiday .I have booked up a trip to the theatre at Great Yarmouth for us all to see Joe Pasquale at the end on August so it will be a nice treat for the boys, and we have got some nice seats not too far from the front which will be good.:j
Right I'm off to fish out something for dinner,i think I may have a cheese salad and i know I have some strawberries that DD gave me yesterday so that will be pudding with a wee dollop of ice cream on top
have a good evening everyone
Cheers Chums

Thanks everyone who's wished me better today; I have to confess I've not had a good day at all; a lot of pain, some sort of tummy bug, *rolls eyes* and BD has taken up the vacant space on the sofa.:(
Still, tomorrow's another day; Mr LW will be here as he's wfh tomorrow, and Terrier Ted will be arriving mid-morning on Friday; Ted doesn't get along with other dogs, so hopefully he'll give BD a good talking to (or barking at).:o
We've got Mr LW's pal A coming over tonight - tbh, I wish he wasn't coming, but I don't want to put him off - he can't come next week, as Mr LW's on a course in Reading all next week and will be 'orribly late home in the evenings. I'm just glad I'll have Ted here for company!:o
I've made up the meal plan next week with all salady-type meals that I can just chuck on a plate and serve, in 10 seconds flat.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I feel for you Lame Wolf as Im in a similar position as is Butterfly Brain too. Hey let's keep each other company and our spirits up. I think it is the weather. Hugs LW and BB and anyone else under the weather today xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Hugs for all the ladies struggling xxxx <shoos LW's BD off the sofa>
Butterfly brain - job hunting not really getting anywhere at mo, H is applying for plenty of jobs but either getting no response or a thanks but no thanks email. Still early days.....but think he's feeling bit despondent tonightI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Evening everyone
Well I thought it was going to be a lovely day but not it has rained again, really fed up of it now. DS2 has gone to an outdoor centre this evening with scouts to do raft building and then a BBQ. Just hope the rain holds off.
Went to craft group this morning will be my last time unless I can get there in the school holidays which is looking unlikely at the moment. Need to get ds2 clothes ready by friday as driving up north to take him to his dads, his ds is picking him up from there to take him to Eurodisney for the week. i also need to make sure my holiday clothes are ready as dh and I go away a week on friday. Could do with being able to dry clothes oustide for a day or 2 to catch up with washing.
os today kitchen cleaned, dw emptied, omlettes for dinner. will try and get spare bedding back up into loft tonight too.
((Hugs to MOlly)), Lamewolf and Butterflybrain - hope the pain eases.
Bitsy - hope your dh finds something soon, it really is hard when you dont even get the courtesy of a reply.
I am sure there were more people to mention but my mind has gone blank. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take Care.0 -
((((((((to all the poorlies)))))))))
Although you need to count me as one of them. Said earlier my vertigo was playing up, I came home at end of day, dropped my keys when trying to unlock the door. I bent down to pick them up and whoosh suddenly I didn't know which way was up! Managed to get in and crawl up to bed. Slept for 2hours which helped, just feel nauseous and groggy now.
Made simple tea of potato waffles with beans, needed the carbs.
Early to bed for me after watching DIYSOS.
