gone to get sticky .....oh er

Old Style Daily Thread for Wednesday 18th July 2012 Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 16th July. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning Ladies.....(men aren't posting much lately are they !)

LW - Hope your feeling better this morning xx

    Morning bargainbird and everyone else

Not been for a bit, life a bit busy and overwhelmed by stuff as usual! :D

Whatever I've missed - hugs and kisses, congrats, sorry if you're poorly or otherwise down.

Damp here in deepest Yorkshire, think we've had about 6 rain-free days in the last 2 months, which is pathetic. Half of my spuds, all my onions, all brassica seedlings been eaten by slugs, little barstewards! They've not gone for the herbs or tomatoes, but think that's more luck than design! On the bright side, it looks like we'll have a massive bramble crop this year, so at least I can do plenty of jam and puds.

Tons of ironing to do today and I need to make thank you card for DS' teachers and support staff for tomorrow (not leaving it until Friday as it'll be manic). Rather than the mandatory chocolates or biscuits, I've made some new bedding for the dolls' bed in the house corner in the classroom, which should last longer than edibles!

Have a good day all and hope you don't get rain! :D

    Morning everyone

Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Cloudy and overcast here again this morning, rain forecast again for later. DH up and off to work at stupid early.

Dinner tonight will beef stew, can't believe we're eating winter type food in July! Will serve stew with new potatoes and veg. Friend will possibly come over for coffee and chat later.

Only working until lunchtime today then on days off, DS2 is going to France for the day on a school trip tomorrow so have bought him some euros and need to get some bottled water for him to take. Have got all the other bits, just need him to get his rucksack organised tonight - early start in the morning - great on my days off!! Will tackle the normal round of chores. We're going away on Friday night so need to get everything done - no pressure then!!

Have a good day, stay safe and well x

Got the usual washing to put on etc.

Tea will be makeshift as I have tap class tonight, last one before summer holidays :D

BB well done to your DDs school. My kids school got downgraded to satisfactory fro. Good because they are being so mucn tougher with the inspections so for them to get outstanding is amazing :T

    Morning all,
Think I might need to buy a rowing boat if this rain keeps up it is coming down so hard.

Have done some washing and have it on the clothes airers in the bathroom.

Have got the SC on with lamb casserole for tea tonight you would think it was winter with the foods we are eating.
HM bread on for sandwiches for lunch.
Might tidy up the spare room and do some ironing

LW I hope you feel a little better this morning.

    Morning everyone,

Cheapskate dolls bedding is a great idea.

    Littlepinkpurse welcome.

LW hugs for you, hope that you feel a bit better today.

Very quiet day at school today, I have a lot of marking to do before the summer so I am hoping to clear most of it today.

Tonight I am going to a leaving do for a friend from work who is having a baby and then straight on to a dance show that DD1 and DD2 are in at school. Really looking forward to that.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)
