Good Morning all, DGS Danny has to wait for any results to come from his Drs. but so far he seems to be o.k. He has an interview for 'Million Pound Drop' this morning He is a t.v. researcher and his 'Pointless' programme has finished until September, so he is at a loose end at the moment, he also has a phone interview with Channel 4's 'The Hotel' so fingers crossed something may come up as he gets bored not working.
Quiet day for me I think just a little bit of sanding and undercoating to do on my renovating bits on the work table in the conservatory.I bought my DD an enamelled picure to go in her downstairs loo when I was away in April on my holidays and the picture is lovely, but the frame is the wrong colour so I am renovating it for her in a different colour to match her decor.
I may do some baking this afternoon (for a change:))
Have a good day everyone it looks like we may have some sunshine here in north Kent
cheers chums0 -
Argh DD had a the mother of all strops this morning.
She is also having a version of night terrors where she cries, strops, slaps and scratches herself. She went and hid behind DSs bedroom door last night and kicked up such a fuss when I dragged her out of his room!!! It's a wonder she didn't wake the whole neighbourhood with her screaming and crying!!!!!
Is it too early for wine?I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

maybe she is tired this morn from disturbed sleep?"I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0 -
Morning All
Welcome Littlepinkpurse, you'll like it here!
Good Luck to JackieO's Danny, hope he finds something soon.
Bargainbird - That's a good result, you must be very pleased your children attend that school.
Bitsy - Hope DD is ok. Feel free to open the wine!
How are you this morning LW?
Slower morning here than yesterday, no sign of any builders yet, they have to line the chimney and replace fire bricks. It's raining hard so thought they may be here by now as they can't do other outside jobs.
Washing going on soon when I have cleaned the kitchen, DD can do her own bathroom as there appears to be dollops of fake tan on the side of the bath and I'm not doing it!
Now have a new bedroom of doom - the one that has had a wall re-plastered, will have to make a start some time. Anyone know how long it takes for the plaster to dry? Noticed when I dismantled the bed that DS1 has been and collected some of his stuff (when no-one was in) so I have text him to find out what to do with the rest of it, Don't really want to put it in the loft as when the house goes up for sale I will have to clear it out anyway at some point. Shame he doesn't want to see any of us but that's how it is.
Off work for 2 weeks now so I may be getting to bed at a reasonable time and have more time to read - I have a stack of books to get through including the 50 shades trilogy (just to be nosey you understand!).
Hope everyone's well, take care. XX0 -
Morning all.
Have given myself a massive kick up the backside. I felt so ashamed yesterday when I really thought about what a struggle life is for so many of you and what you manage to get done in spite of it.:(So today I'm tackling long put-off jobs with... well... not enthusiasm exactly but certainly more determination. Thank you LW, Hilstep et al. You have shamed me into action.:o
So today I am waging war on the ironing and am not even going to think about anything else until it's done, It occupies the whole laundry basket, a BIG plastic container and there is still a mountain on the floor. How can two people produce so much?
Lamb chops (or whatever they are) are cooking gently ready for lunch and potatoes, onions, carrots and cabbage are already prepared.
Adelight: Good luck with the dentist. I know where you are coming from. Not had anything much done to my teeth for nearly 50 years but have to have a wisdom tooth out next Monday. My dentist has kept it going for several years by patching it up but its number's up now. I'm dreading it.
OK. Onward and upward.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Hello everyone,
Haven't posted recently as I haven't anything interesting to say unfortunately but I have been reading and keeping up to date with everyone.
Just at work still which is very quiet, go home and do nothing and then its back to work again. I do have an interesting life!
Still using my laundry gloop, does anyone know what I can add to make the whites better though as they are looking a bit dull?
Toms are growing very slowly and so is my cucumber plant but the potatoes in the carrier bags are going mad. Not sure what they will do, it's a bit trial and error as its the first time I've done those.
We had a lovely weekend, saw the sun for two days so made the most of it. We went strawberry picking on Sat and had a BBQ on the Sun but back to normal now.
I stuck rigidly to my diet last week, even walked to work twice and lost 1 lb. I'm not impressed at all but I will stick to it, a lb a week could add up over the months.
I made a banana cake in the BM last week and it was lovely, going to try a few more this weekend with variations if poss.
Sorry, that all for now.
Take care all0 -
Good Morning All. The rain is teeming down here again - although I did get out to the gym, plus a few in-town jobs before it started. Washing is...hanging in conservatory yet again! I'll probably have forgotten where my peg bag lives when next actually need it!
Going to Proms this evening, so hope it's a bit drier by this evening.
Must go and do some tidying now. ((HUGS)) to all who need one just now.Resolution:

Morning All,
Have already nipped to the post office, quick scoot round the charity shops and showered and blown and straightened my hair. Just time for a quick cuppa before I do some work on the laptop.
I'm another one with a few jobs lining up. I really need to sort out our photographs and put them in some kind of order and should do a stocktake of the store cupboard and freezers before we buy anymore stuff to pile on top.
No meal to cook tonight as we are at mum and dads for tea in Yorkshire. Lets hope it doesn't rain all the way there and back again. It's a lovely drive when the sun shines.
DS3 isn't coming tonight, he and his friends have tickets to go and watch the Great Britain Womens Basketball team in a practice match before the Olympics which they are all looking forward to and then he sleeping at a friends afterwards.
DH and I seem to have more and more time alone these days, which is nice after 25 yrs of a houseful of kids.:D
I have had it on good authority that the summer weather is back this wkend, I am feeling excited about pegging out:rotfl:
Have a lovely day all xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Hi all
Long time lurker here. Just wondered if any of you knew what had happened to Hester. Her blog has not been updated either. I read this thread everyday I feel I know a lot of you as "neighbours" so am feeling a bit of "neighbourly" concern. Hope she is ok.
Reading this thread inspires me to get on with things. Thanks Ladies0 -
Yes I wondered how Hester was too? Hope everything ok xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
