New phone and hate it, phones4u won't help me.
Hi , I really hope someone can help me! I upgraded my new phone at the beginning of June for the new blackberry bold. But I hate the phone now and I have written to phones4u and they said that they only offer a trade for the same make and model if anything goes wrong in the first 28days. After ranting the colleague eventually told me that if I had mentioned in the first 28 days they would have swapped it for something I like. I have this phone until June 2014. Was wondering if there was anyone out there who knows if the is anything I can do!! Any suggestions are welcome!

1.sell the phone privately buy a new pay and go phone put sim card in
2.trade phone in for another model to cex paying the difference (they give higher amounts for trade in then cash value)
can i ask what phone you have ? did you not ask to look at the phone and see a working model when you bought said phone ?

If it's a Blacberry Bold Touch you could get as much as £175 just from recycling the phone! (no box needed etc) as long as it's working. At the risk of looking obsessed about the phone I really would recommend then replacing it with a Huawei G300 smartphone for £100 less £5 Quidco/TCB cash back (may need to spend £5 on an unlock code if your contract is not with Vodafone). Voila! You have an excellent smartphone and £75 in your pocket!! My wife has this phone and absolutely loves it.
PS My son has a Blackberry Bold and he hates it also. I wonder if Blackberry's bubble has burst?
PPS Why would you think phones4u have any obligation to change the phone just because you don't like it? If it's faulty, fair enough.0 -
Many people get the phone without playing or checking the device.
If you do change the phone:
Whatever phone you go for, play with it in a shop. Do it over a few days. What may look good on the first day may not be that good once you have tried it for a few times.
If any apps you would like to use such as tv on demand, games etc check to make available for your phone.
In the end you will need to use the phone over two years so make sure you are happy.0 -
The phone is now used and it's value has dropped sharply-it can't be resold as new but would have to be refurbed and sold as such. Why do you think phones4u would absorb the loss resulting if they offered you an exchange?
Under those circumstances, 'ranting' at them will hardly have helped your case.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
The best thing I can suggest is to sell the phone so at least you get some cash back for it and then buy another phone with the money you make. I've used comparemymobile before which is really easy and I got good money. Might put some cash in your pocket for a phone that you don't like!0
