Car insurance claim, 3rd party changed his mind

it is the communication within the drive assist company that delays things on 3 occasions we were told they were bringing our car back and then it got cancelled at last minute.....

We've had the damage report now. Total of £1700 give or take a few quid. Including a whole new rear panel. It's quite clear that level of damage wouldn't be caused by us rolling back into him, but where is this going to go. I've no experience of this kind of thing, so don't know how long it will take, or what we will have to do. There seem to be so many people involved, very confusing!
