long distance taxi/moving van

I hope this is the right forum, please move if not. I am moving from Brighton to Norwich and need to find a long distance taxi or a similar service. We don't have much (no furniture) to transport but it's too much to just take on a train. There would have to be enough for 2 people and a few travel bags and boxes (an estate would be more than enough). I found something at around 230£ but was hoping something cheaper was available. Renting a car is not an option since I don't have a driving license :(

Thanks!

Check out local 'man with a van' services - as this my work out slightly cheaper. Shop window cards are also worth a look.....

Given that it is a 350 mile/7hr round trip you would need to be offering them something like £60 to cover fuel plus something for their time so about £100+ in total.

You could try DHL via your local Staples etc, see rates here http://www.dhlservicepoint.co.uk/sizeprice.htm 20kg box up to 481 x 404 x 389mm costs £21.95.

try interlink for your boxes http://www.interlinkexpress.com/

that trip could easily be a 9 hour round trip, and 350 miles is a lot of fuel in a van so £200 plus isnt unreasonable IMO

£230 is about the going rate for that sort of thing. The courier we use at work charges £1.20 per loaded mile, so for Brighton to Norwich would be about £210 ish.
