Cheapest Pay As You Go for just receiving calls?

Are there any Pay As You Go chips that allow you to receive calls without having to put money on them? Or a very small amount?

Any help much appreciated!

(I have a mobile phone already by the way)

Yes, order a free SIM card from Orange at http://freesim.orange.co.uk/

You don't need to add any credit and it will remain active as long as you receive a call every six months. Another benefit of Orange is that if you do want to put any credit on it, you can add very small amounts (as little as a few pence) in an Orange shop.

On Three you don't have to have any usage at all for the SIM to stay live. Most networks however offer a Free SIM with minimal credit, and if you're regularly receiving calls, the usage means you won't have the SIM cut off.

Not true in theory. See http://www.three.co.uk/Privacy_Cookies/Terms_Conditions?content_aid=1214305745843 where it says "Once activated, Top-ups have no expiry date, unless there is no activity at all on an account for 180 days as Three reserves the right to terminate or suspend unused accounts".

In reality they don't cut you off. I've had a SIM card for a number of years with no usage. In this case, it sounds like there will be usage anyway.

We have Three SIM in a phone 'on the desk' which we use for 'incoming calls' only.
It has *never* had any credit on it.

Someone has 'free' 3 to 3 calls :)
