Any ideas what to buy a five year old girl?

I've got a birthday coming up and I'm clueless as always.

Under £20 preferably.

Thanks ever so much in advance.

  • Try the Accessorize sale. Lots of pink and sparkly stuff there. I got my DD lots for her 6th birthday and she helped picked stuff for OH's 5 yo niece's birthday. We got a lovely handbag and filled it with a jewelry set, hair set, stickers, sunglasses etc. She loved them!

Does she have a decent scooter? My DD got her first proper scooter for her 5th birthday (a Disney Princess one with pink streamers on the handlebars etc etc) - she loved it!

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Or try Claire's accessories, my DDs are obsessed with that shop and love getting things from there, they have quite a selection too so you could get a couple of bits for under £20.

Also arts and crafts, Argos have got offeres on some of their arty things now and nearly all girls love anything crafty!

Am I the only one to jump when accidentally reading the thread title as "Any ideas where to buy a five year old girl"?

I second the butterfly garden idea, my daughter is 8 and got this for her birthday, we have caterpillars growing happily at the moment. I know the reception and y1 classes at school also have these kits, the kids love it. If you do get one, open the box and order the catterpillars to arrive on her birthday, it is £2.50 extra x

Melissa and Doug do a really good range of really large sticker pads for 4.99, which my dd loves. Ebay or Toys R. T-shirt pens plus cheap white t-shirts (£2.50 / 2 at Asda). Home bargains have paper Jamz guitars in girly pink £4.99. The book people do great sets, Winnie the Witch is a favourite here. Dressing up is always a winner, disney/sainsburys.
