Inactive SIM in a new unlocked mobile
Hi all
I have bought an unlocked phone off the internet, when putting my SIM in it displays inactive SIM. Why? It is an Orange pay as you go SIM, The refurbished mobile is a Sony ercisson (old model) the same as the original failed one. Can I purchase a new SIM (with new number) and use the new SIM? Grateful for any help.
Thanks

Yes. It will work provided the phone's unlocked - although if the existing sim isn't actually inactive it should work in the new phone. If you have access to another unlocked (or Orange locked) phone, try the existing sim in that first. If it works then it's a phone (rather than as sim) issue. Alternatively, put a friend's sim in the new phone to check if that works.0

Is your IMEI number the correct one for your phone is a thought .
