The engine gone, had head gasket trouble.

If you love your car, get a 2nd hand engine from the scrappie,
is that an option if you need a car, it may be the cheapest option.

We were advised not too as they are prone to the heads going.

When you say the engine has gone, who told you that, what happend, if it's only the head gasket it may not be to big a job.
What car is it ?

Cut the cat off before you scrap it, its worth £30-£40 on its own, T-Met are giving good prices at the minute. I got £200 for a MK4 Astra and Cat the other day
