Aqua Credit Card Problems

in Credit cards
After much anticipation my AQUA credit credit card arrived this morning. I was really quite excited to earn 3% cashback on purchases and spend money overseas without the usual 2.99% foreign currency load.
As of 7pm today, my new credit card has been shredded. let me tell you why...
1. The first problem I encountered was registering for internet access to my Aqua account. The website stubbornly refused to accept a perfectly valid email address that I use on almost 100 other websites! I signed up using on old e-mail address in the hope I could change e-mail address once registration was complete; no such luck.
2. The next problem came when I tried to register for AQUA SECURE, just to get some extra protection for my transactions. This just generated a string of obscure error messages each and every time I tried.
3. I then tried to view statements. It may be a bit silly to try and view statements for a new card but I certainly did not expect the website to crash with a message saying that an unexpected error occurred so they could no longer service my account on-line and log me out! Undeterred, I logged back in and tried again but the website crashed each time.
4. I tried to add my business phone number, which it appeared to do successfully, but each time I logged out and back in again it decided my business number would now be my mobile number! Pretty useless trying to send an SMS to an 0844 number!
5. For each problem that I encountered I would call AQUA on 0845 850 0519 but each time they told me I had called a wrong number but could provide me with the correct number to call! The only problem being the number they always gave me was the number I had just called them on! Give them their dues, they did then try to help but could not resolve any of the issues I had.
Goodbye AQUA and thank you for wasting my day!

I had a brilliant day with my card:
I rang up to activate my card, setup a DD, refused the insurance offer and setup online account access. Unlike yourself, everything seemed to work just fine.
Until I actually tried to use the card in a shop and it got declined. Apparently the assistent 'forgot' to activate the card, despite the fact that it was the only reason for the call. There was also no details of my DD, but they had put a DD form in the post. I tried to set it up online, but even though you can enter your sort code and account details, you can't actually setup the DD. You have to do it over the phone or via post.
Now I'm scared to try my card again just in case they 'forgot' to activate it again and I'll be embarassed a second time. Good job I always carry a second CC just in case the payment fails on the first!
It seems I'm not the only person that they 'forgot' to activate the card for - and you can't tell until you try to use it!
I had a piece of card posted to me today saying "Welcome to Aqua" all over it. Thanks for the advertisement, Aqua, but the card itself is completely useless and has been filed appropriately (into the recycle bin). They must like wasting money.0 -
There is an option on-line to change bank account details but an AQUA rep told me that this is only to pay the minimum amount! If you want to pay the full amount each month you have to call them!
Similarly, you can request a credit increase on-line but if you wish to decrease your credit limit you have to phone them!
If you have not cancelled the card I suggest you do that also! And, just to make sure, try to register the card on a website to see if it is accepted! If they fail to activate your card they can easily forget to cancel it! They certainly forgot to try and sell me insurance!0 -
I have had 3 emails today asking me to take out an Aqua card. I deleted them as I don't need a new card and after reading this am so glad I did.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0

Test to see if card is active by using it at 'pay at pump' petrol stations if its not activated there is no embarrassment.0

These numbers are shown on the back of my card:
- 24-hour customer service 0845 601 0436
- Outside the UK dial +44 (29) 2048 6302
- Customer Services (UK) Tel: 0845 601 0436
- Customer Services (International) Tel: +44 29 20 818079 (this one on the PIN notification)
I had no problems registering, setting up a DD and advising a coming trip abroad, all on the 0800 number. Just need to use the card now.0 -

My problem was with the website and, supposedly, I was calling the correct number for website problems. I did try any other numbers I could find but none of those were the correct number either!0 -
I must of been a lucky customer, to date nearly 2 years I have never had any issues with either the card or website(though it could do with a UI update) out of curiosity you haven't got any other programs on the computer interfering with the site? Have you tried loggin in via other means?iPad, mobile phone Internet etc?hope everyone's issues are sorted out soon'If you ain't living life on the edge you are taking up too much room'
