Damn Dialaphone!! (Phones4U)

Guys im looking for some advice from those in the know or anyone who has had the same experience.
I upgraded my Iphone (24 month) contract with dialaphone last year over the phone. I got a really good deal, Samsung Galaxy S2 with loads of minutes texts and data. I specifically requested an 18 month contract which was all fine so therefore I proceeded.
A couple of months ago I downloaded the Orange "My account" App so I could keep an eye on my data useage. When I opened the App I noticed that it said I was on a 24 month contract!!
I contacted Dialaphone/Phones4U who said that I should never have been allowed to upgrade from a 24 month to an 18 month contract. Nevertheless they listened back to the original phone conversation and said that they will honour it and will buy out the remaining 6 months of the contract when I get to the 18 month point as the person who sold me the upgrade had made a mistake.
Does anyone know where I stand?
Can I insist that Dialaphone cancel the whole thing as it was their mistake. I dont want to get to the 18 month point and they buy my contract out but offer me a rubbish phone (which is the usual occurance)
Any ideas welcome!!!
