Agree with Tropez: Plenty of people have much loved pets rehomed quite responsibly because they are genuinely unable to continue to provide a good standard of care or safe environment. I'd far rather they handed them in to a rescue centre without judgemental comments than dumped them on the streets or just moved house and left them behind.
