Too true, Curry Queen – but I am just trying to justify putting a “shipping” sized order into Boots.com. to stock up my gift draw? (7 pressies, 12 christmas crackers, enough shower stuff and conditioner for the next year, 170 nappies, not to mention some pot pourri for me! Came to just over £40.). Will put savings made in my PIN money in the month that I give the gifts. Where the original price was more than the budget, I will just include the difference.

I did the whole Boots thing when I first joined this site a couple of months ago and discovered all the voucher codes ;)

I now have enough soaps, shower gels, dental products and medicine cupboard stuff to last probably a year too LOL! I also bought some Trevor Sorbie 5 litre shampoo and conditioner from the discount cosmetics site which will last a lifetime! ... so I've saved a fortune there already. I used to spend loads on Boots orders every other month but no need to anymore ;)

It's the same with the Tesco and Iceland vouchers (although Iceland has ended now, hence the last minute orders this week to take advantage ;) ) and by using those has meant that I don't have to compromise on the quality of food we eat, but also using the recipes and tips from here for HM meals has helped enormously :)

I think the biggest benefit for me is that I no longer feel guilty at buying little treats for myself and my son if it comes out of my PMS money, as before MSE I'd have had to find that from my normal budgets and probably juggle the bills to cover it. Take for instance the mobile phone I've just ordered for him, he already has a nokia gage thing so I couldn't justify the expense of another phone, but he's scared of taking it out with him in case it gets stolen, so finding this one for £20 with £10 call credit and 1000 texts included was too much of a bargain to miss out on and as it's come from my PMS I don't feel the slightest bit guilty in buying it :)

At least you know you have several gifts covered now without worrying about whether you have the spare cash to buy them at the time, and presumably you bought them at reduced price so have saved even more money too ;) ... so you don't need to justify spending the money on them now :)

If you look on the vouchers board there are discount codes posted for Boots, although there doesn't seem to be as many these days, but they offer money off your shopping or how to make the most of advantage point days etc ... :)

Saved £7.07 in Tesco today :j

Total so far £42.28. I had a rule that said the money is not to be touched, but I made an exception today and bought NiQuitin gum. I think it's allowable as in the long run it's a huge moneysaver :D

This might be like teaching grandma to suck eggs so to speak, but just in case you havent done it yet. Dont forget to visit the Utilities Board, I was really pleased the other day, i changed suppliers after having shoddy service from Scottish Power, the cheapest supplier for me was Powergen. I have just found out i can register my Tesco Clubcard and gain points on what i spend on my gas and electricity.

I am sure Edinburghlass in the Telephones Board can find you a good deal with your telephone services too.

The thing about this site is, theres a wealth of information on saving money on one website - I love it!

    ROFL!!!!

I wouldn't get much for mine unless anyone wants a poorly husband(knackered himself out running the Marathon on Sunday-he did it in 5 hours though-not bad for his first one!!)
  • Thanks to this board I have just used a coupon in ASDA for something I didn't buy. I felt very naughty, blushed bright red :o:o and would have backed down immediately if I was challenged - but it worked! She deducted the voucher! This may not be news to old hands: it was a revalation to me. And no one in the queue pointed at me and I didn't have to wear a big sign saying "poor person".

So chalk up £0.70 to me. It's one small step for you, but a giant leap for me.

    Thanks you, MSE
