My latest e-mail to them. (Should I have posted this in the Gripes forum page?)
My wife and myself are both over 75 and hold an oldies TV Licence . We moved house 3 months ago and notified you lot by filling in on your web page the details and got a transaction ID reference. We have since received a constant barrage of letters to our new address complaining that we do not have a licence. I have phoned you three times and each time given the same information, the last time I received an assurance from you that we would not be troubled any more. However the nuisance continues unabated, I have just shredded your latest unopened.

We are also getting the same threatening letters addressed to the property (long since demolished) which used to be on the site where our new house is built. These are being post returned to you unopened in the hope that one day the penny will drop for you.

I hope that you do not consider my communication unreasonably acid but there comes a point when you loose patience with an outsourced facility that ignores information we are spending time and resources providing to them and continues to churn out unlawful demands willy nilly on the hope that they will badger some poor old OAP into sending money they do not owe ?. Are we looking here at the next miss-selling scandal on its way to the fan ?

Please treat this communication as a letter of complaint.

Regards, (but not much) A Baldrick.

Good luck, although I don't hold out much hope, there are very good reasons why Capita are known as Crapita.

    ;)
  • Just waiting for Capita's heavies to knock on the door, have my camera and audio recorder to hand.

I would actually send a letter to them advising them that they are failing under their 'commitment to you' policy http://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/about/our-commitment-to-you-AB5/
Head it COMPLAINT in big red letters and send it to

Better still, stop dealing with the monkey and complain to the organ grinder. She is:

    Pipa Doubtfire
    BBC White City
    Room 4436
    201 Wood Lane
    London
    W12 7TS

The BBC is the Television Licensing Authority and retains overall responsibility.

I would also copy in pipa.doubtfire@... which is her actual name ;)
