Phone stolen, help with what to do?

Hi all,

I am an o2 business customer and last night one of the phones on our account was stolen which is my girlfriends. I didnt have phone insurance but I do have contents insurance at my home address but Im not sure if it covers theft ouside of our home boundaries?

Is there any other way of me trying to claim back this phone or the cost? Really need some help ive never been in this situation before. Or is the only option to try my contents insurance.

Many thanks,
LIam Biggs

Assuming you have told o2 so they can block the SIM?

Does your home insurance cover business items?
In the meantime ring the service provider and inform them, cos there are too many sob stories of stolen phone and following a large bill, which IMO the owner should pay for until the time it was reported. When you get a new sim/handset use the facilities to lock them using a pin number which will minimise an unauthorised usage should the event occur again.
  • I blocked the sim 1 hour after it was stolen, and processed to get the phone blocked. They are both now complete.

With my contents insurance I have to ring them tomorrow and ask if its possible for me to claim.

look at your policy before calling, once you call they will log it and you will have to declair
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
