Just Got my First PPC Ticket - Let The Games Begin!!

Well, at long last, I have received my first unenforceable invoice from UKPC. The heinous crime is for parking in a disablle bay without displaying a blue badge. We all know the law relating to these, and there was very good reason for parking in such a bay due to an injury my wife sustained last night, twisting her knee and spraining her ankle.
Here are some highlights from the ticket:-
"Parking attendent (details not entered) had reasonable cause to believe that the following breach of the terms and conditions of parking occured on our clients private land (details of which were clearly and prominantly displayed and agreed to by the driver by the act of parking the vehicle"
VCS v HMRC at the Upper Tier Tax Tribunal immediately spring to mind here:D
And also that they agree that the driver is the person who agreed to the contract:D:D
And on the back:-
"Part 3. LATE/NON PAYMENT
This Parking Charge has been lawfully issued and the collection process will be followed in accordance with the Administration of Justice Act 1970"
Oh really? How does that act affect the collection process?
And to continue:-
"Failure to Respond may lead to court proceedings being issued to recover the amount due. UK Parking Control Ltd will request the registered keepers details from the DVLA should the parking Charge remain unpaid after 28 days"
I guess they will be getting in touch with the DVLA:D
And there's more:-
"Failure to pay after this point may result in UK Parking Control Ltd instructing a debt recovery agency to recover the amount due. At this point an additional charge of £60 will apply, in accordance with the terms and conditions of parking."
I'm quaking in my boots at the thought of a debt recovery agent being put on the case:D:D
Isn't adding an extra £60 effectively confirming their charge is a penalty?
So, should I
a) ignore
b)ignore or
c) ignore?
I think you know where I am headed with this one. Looks like the games afoot!!

I bet quite a few people think that the name "UK Parking Control" means that the "ticket" is being issued by some sort of government or local-authority agency. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

The recent VCS v Ibbotson case also shows that, if the attendant was nearby and saw you park, he is duty bound to attempt to mitigate the PPC's losses by informing the driver that they should move or incur the charge."Parking attendent (details not entered) had reasonable cause to believe that the following breach of the terms and conditions of parking occured on our clients private land (details of which were clearly and prominantly displayed and agreed to by the driver by the act of parking the vehicle"
Hmm, tricky one. Can I go away and think about it :rotfl:So, should I

b)ignore or

He can't have been very far away as we were only in the shop for 10 minutes maximum. But then we know they are not interested in giving advice. He may even have watched my OH alight from the car and observed the obvious difficulty she was in."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

I doubt it. I suspect he was in his scabby van indulging in his hobby which allegedly causes blindness.... and hairy palms etc.0 -
Just got back from a very nice holiday to find the first threatogram from UKPC. I do like the statement on the back that says the following:-
"This parking charge has been lawfully issued and the collection process will be carried out in accordance with the Administration of Justice Act 1970"
:D "You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

You got yours already? I got my parking charge on 28th June and am still waiting for my first threatogram. I have a good mind to write to these cowboys demanding to know where mine is.0

Really similar claim to the rubbish spouted by a PPI reclaim doofus who rang our TPS registered landline and said 'we are regulated by the Ministry of Justice'. :rotfl:
I managed to waste his time on the phone for a full ten minutes! There was a point when I called him a scammer and he said 'this call is being recorded'! How I laughed, as if I would give a stuff that a PPI scammer is recording me ranting at them for phoning a TPS phone number!
And as if you give a stuff about this fake PCN rubbish!
It is fun to bait scammers though...:DPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Telephone Preference Service. It's a place you can register your phone number to stop unwanted cold calls. Not completely foolproof (and boy do idiots sometimes get through) but it does make a difference.
Can I just say how much I adore the phrase "threatogram"."So long and thanks for all the fish" :hello:0 -
