Cheapest broadband without paying any line rental?

Options
I'm moving into a studio apartment soon and will need broadband. But I don't want to pay line rental as I wont even use it. What are my options and what would work out the cheapest?

How do you expect the BB to be carried to your flat without either cable or a phoneline ? Your choices are limited to Virgin or a mobile company's dongle. If you only want low usage you might be better off without a phoneline but if you want high speeds or highish usage (eg youtube and similar is high usage) you might need to broaden your options a bit.

    Hmmm

But line rental is £12.50 plus £7.50 for unlimited with Sky roughly -for me that extra £2.50 would be a lot faster and a lot more useful-but if the OP wants only minimal internet (eg no online games, no youtube etc) and isn't too fussed about internet speed then yes a dongle.
However if they feel BB is an essential perhaps they want it for more than a bit of email and light surfing ?.

But you are using it-you will use it every time you connect to the internet!
Your ISP does not provide or maintain the phone line through which your broadband is carried to the property. How do you expect that to be free?

Is it correct I could get £70.00 Cashback with quidco when purchasing talk talk essential broadband and line rental.

    So
    £3.25 x 6
    £7.50 x 6
    £114.00

    -

    £70.00

So works out at £9.30 a month... Cant complain with that!

My parents have been with them for over a year now, No problems here. I rang them up 6 months ago to say I was leaving to a cheaper provider, they put me through to customer retention and gave us a much better deal.

It's a pain that it seems to be impossible to get broadband in the UK without paying for a phone service that won't be used. When I lived in Belgium I could have ADSL broadband on what was called a bare line. The line rental was about 2€.
