Good morning all,
Beautiful morning here, what a difference a day makes.
Wm is on and i have already hung a load out. Need to get a bit more ironing to do.
DD is off to work shortly. When she gets home i'm taking both girls into town, well just dropping them off. Hubby is at work so i will have peace and quiet for a couple of hours, bliss.
Tru, the cottage holiday sounds lovely.
Nmlc, keepsakes are just wonderful. When my nana and grandad passed away i was asked if there was anything i wanted. I chose four xmas decorations. I remember putting those on their tree when i was a child. Every year they come out and it always makes me smile, it takes me right back to being with my nana and grandad.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Molly - glad you had a brilliant holiday
Tru - breathe...
Well I managed to fall back to sleep for a couple of hours, which was good. Before that I had a quick catch up online with my friend in New Zealand.
WM is on now, need to strip the bed (one I get out of it!) ready to go on in 2nd load.

Morning all,
The sun is actually shining :T, so its a race to get all the washing done and on the line today, yesterdays can go out too, as its still a bit damp.
Would like to get the hedge cut today, but will have to see how dry it is, OH has to stand on the conservatory roof with the hedge cutter, which can be slippery when wet, I hope it is dry, as its desperate for a cut.
Dinner tonight will be burger in a bun with sweetcorn, and maybe wedges, one of the others can cook,, I must get the pork out for tomorrow too, its a huge bit, and will take ages to defrost.
Need to start listing again on ebay later on, we are nearly there for the lounge revamp, but our holiday wiped out our savings, need to top those back up.
Ok better get on, have good days all xx0 -
Strange yellow object in the skies over Kent Yay its the sun so I immediately shoved a line of washing out for a blow.Eldest Dd is coming for her Sunday morning coffee and natter shortly so the coffee pot is set to perk and some scones are ready for her to have a nibble on.Dinner later at youngest Dds inbetween I must do some ironing or I will be going to dinner in the nuddy (not a pretty sight )I hope everyone has a good day and the sun is shing down on you all

Morning all
Sunny here today and the forecast is good. So I will be putting washing in the machine in a minute.
Roast pork for tea- DS has gone airsofting and will need a good meal with all that running around.
DH and I had planned to take some bedding back to the House of Fraser today as it doesn't match the paint in the bedroom but we could do that tomorrow............
DH glossed the skirtings and door etc yesterday and we managed to sleep in the bedroom last night with the windows open. Apparently water based gloss so not so smelly.
Thinking about booking a holiday abroad for the autumn as the weather has been horrible, but doing the bedroom has been expensive-still if the bed lasts ten years that not so much per day is it. hope I haven't made a mistake buying a bed with an extra deep mattress as the fitted sheets and mattress protector have all to be deep too.
Molly hope you had a lovely holiday-good picture!
Tru jealous now of your planned holiday! Hope you have a good time.
Flutterby yep housework for me too. I always feel better if I can get back to sleep when I wake up early.
FS that brought back memories-we have Christmas decorations going back a long way too-I love putting them on the tree at Christmas.
Judi -yes OH had to have a brand new car a couple of years ago too-not what I would have chosen!
Hugs to all and have a good day.

Morning All
Overcast here so I am hoping for the sun that they promised, one load of washing done and another in.
Tru..... Sometimes it is better to try and ignore the outlaws. Bite your tongue(As hard as it is) when dealing with them. I hope that you have a lovely holiday x x
We had a good time at the barbecue last night even though it rained. The good thing was that our hosts managed to cook everything before it started and we ate in the conservatory.
Dinner is Roast Gammon with salad and potatoes from the garden plus some cheesecake and or trifle that wasn't finished off and I brought home last night
Ooooooh Sun:dance: Off to get the washing on the line BFNBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

About to trawl through the recipes here. A very kind friend gave me The Dodo Book for Cooks, which is a notebook to put recipes in plus a few bits of notes etc. and some humorous and literary quotations. I can't find a few of my regular recipes around so thought I would try and find them here.
Washing machine on and clothes on the line (and everything crossed).
Serious hugs for all, with lots of good vibes. Especially big hug for tru, these family things are really draining. The holiday is an excellent idea.
This recipe worked for me - from 100 Mince recipes.
1lb 7oz fresh mince, 1/2 onion finely chopped, 1 clove garlic v finely chopped, 1 tbsp finely chopped parsley plus extra to garnish, 2tbsp sunflower oil, salt and pepper
Batter - 4oz plain flour, pinch of cayenne pepper, pinch salt, 1 large egg, 10 fl oz milk.
Make batter by sifting flour, cayenne and salt into a bowl, make well, break in egg and add half milk, beat well until smooth, add rest of milk, leave to rest for 30 minutes
Mix beef, onion, garlic, and parsley in bowl and season.
Heat oil in shallow baking tin until v hot, then stir the batter and put half in baking tin. Spread mince mixture on top, then pour over rest of batter. Cook in preheated oven 200C/400F/Gas 6 for twenty minutes then reduce to 180C/350F/Gas 4 and cook for 30 minutes. Serve immediately.
This was v popular.
Edited to add - molly - you look lovely. nmlc - people deal with grief in so many different ways, you are being as supportive as you can. Hope you are beginning to feel better. judi - don't get me started. Dinner tonight is problematical. I took some things out of the freezer to defrost - they will go to waste if the men have their own way. btw, little bear won't have butties for lunch, but he will have sandwiches.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
I've run out of patience already - I want to go NOW
It's a fab cottage less than 2 mins walk from the harbour.
I don't have to bite my tongue when dealing with the outlaws because I plan on never seeing them again :rotfl: Well, I will see FIL occasionally (obligatory birthday and Christmas) but the rest can burn

Hello all!!
Back from my much needed break away in Cornwall. Had an amazing time, enjoying today then back to reality tomorrow!
Ex has moved back to his mum's, he's convinced we will get back together, I've said that we need to take things slowly and my feelings haven't changed. Not the best conversation to have at 2am after a long drive! But it's all be said now, need to try and move on.
Got the WM on load 1, think I will get all the washing done and put away today, then run the hoover round and chill out with the pup.
Think I might defrost some sausages, cook them all and I can have them throughout the week for dinners, will also put the BM on so I can have some toast for lunch!
Hope everyone is okay.

Tru - Enjoy your holiday and s@d the in-laws!
Molly - You look so happy on holiday, glad you enjoyed it.
nmlc - big hugs to you.
Had a lovely evening with friends last night and the meal was fab. Still full so will get something later.
Someone came to buy some of the tools this morning so that's another £130 in my pocket. I think I sold one of them too cheaply as I had 25 replies in the first hour. Oh well, I don't mind as I don't use them and just wanted to get them out of the way.
DD gone off to work, I will do more in the bedroom of doom and then a bit more of the mirror I am distressing. Not sure if it will work but the mirror was given to me and I had the paint so nothing lost in trying.
Enjoy your Sundays. Take care. XX0
