Barclays ISA - opened one today

I can't see that in the terms and conditions, are you sure it's not just an identification requirement for applying by post?
It's perfectly legal for your sister to lend you money to put into the ISA. However, assuming she's not making you sign a credit agreement, she's technically giving you the money. The only way I can see this being a problem would be if you die, as then the money would form part of your estate and your sister wouldn't have any proof that she'd lent the money to you.0 -
As I've already used up my 2006/07 cash ISA limit, I tried opening the 6.5% Tax Beater ISA with Barclays last week and said that I would only be depositing the money on 6th Apr. The staff at the branch (Charing Cross Rd, boo hiss) told me this was fine.
Unfortunately my application was returned to me by post today, stating that I hadn't given them any money to open the account with (eg a cheque, or an a/c number + sort code).
But if I HAD given it to them, the money would have gone right in as this financial year's allowance, right? Or is it possible to tell them to delay it till 6th Apr?
To be safe, I think I'll just wait till the new tax year before I open it - and hope they're still offering it then!0 -
I think they hold the money for you until they can open the account. How kind of them.0

Quick question, can you access this account online?
As a Barclays current account customer (mad I know in terms of interest!) the ISA has appeared in my list of accounts. However, I cannot move any money out of it online. I think you may have to do it in branch or by phone. Now debtfree except for the mortgage!0
