  • Wow. Just rang David Lloyd for a quote.

3 month membership £85 per month plus a £25 joining fee
  • Does anyone have any experience of trying to negotiate the price down at DL and with any sucess? I've heard it's pretty easy to get the joining fee waived, but what about the actualy membership?!

Good question, i think i went as far as i could and ended up walking away. I got the joining fee down from £125 to £25 but they wouldnt budge on the monthly amount. Even after my 3 month trial the best they would do is 1 month free if i signed for another 12.

    Anyone geta reduction?

I know some who take (teach) classes in there and even that doesn't warrant a reduction!
    Always overestimating...
  • Over the past week I have been trying to get the David Lloyd monthly membership fee reduced to the equivalant of that if I were to pay a year up front. Unfortunately they won't budge at all which is a shame as I would love to join.
  • I called my local David Lloyd three weeks ago enquiring about membership. I was told it is £82 a month for everything. When I said that was a bit expensive he asked me who I worked for and it turns out my company has Corporate membership which knocks £10 a month off and no joining fee. I said I'd think about it. I actually went on holiday a couple of days later and when I got back after two weeks away, they had left 6 msgs on my mobile and home phone wanting me to go in to have a look round and have called me twice more since. They are desperate for business, no doubt about it, so I am going to try to knock them down to £65 a month for 3 months to use just the Gym and Pool areas to see what they say. I'll pay £65 but don't want to pay any more.
