Debit Card Blocked - Need Money!

My Debit card got blocked because 02 tried to take my bill and for some reason was declined despite having the funds in there.
I'm now in a position where I urgently need money but I don't have internet or telephone banking, so I can't transfer my money to my mums account.
Obviously I can't use my card at a local cash machine, and the local Barclays branch is closed.
I've spoke to both the telephone and internet team, and they have declined my request to transfer money purely because I am not registered for them. I've been through security with them and they still wont let me. It's ridiculous, I just want my money.
What do you think my chances are of transferring some money across to my mums account if asked to speak to someone higher up like a supervisor/manager via telephone, with it being an emergency situation?

Do you have online access to your account? Transfer some money online to your mum's? What does your online statement say, is there really enough money in your account?
Can your mum, or a friend, lend you some money over the weekend?
Seems you need to go into Branch on Monday to sort our whatever the problem might be.0 -
I think you 'll find that your account was already blocked which led to the DD being returned. You'll almost certainly need to deal with the reason the account is being blocked before accessing any funds in your account. I suspect it's a case of borrowing money until Monday0

My mum is skint so I can't borrow of her, and have nobody else to borrow from.
I know the reason why it has been blocked and have already addressed the issue with Barlcays, a new card is being sent out.
I guess I'll just have to be stuck, it's ridiculous that they just wont let me use telephone banking without having to wait 6 days to register. If I've been through security with them then that should be enough.0 -
If its just your debit card, ask to make a complaint. OH's debit card got blocked and because he wasnt registered for telephone banking all Barclays kept saying was 'I am sorry, we cannot help Mrs xx' which annoyed me even more as I am not Mrs xx and i had told them this
I asked to make a complaint and within about 1 minute the customer relations team in the UK called me by the right name and transferred some money from his account to mine which I then withdrew.
Try that. It might work.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
Thanks Mrs_Ryan, I'll try that. I got the same response, 'I am sorry, we cannot help Miss X'. Very frustrating!0

They told OH that he would have to wait for 5 days for a new PIN before he could withdraw any money which is why I went mad and demanded to make a complaint. Good luck, hope you get it sorted

Thanks, going to give them a ring now!
I hate it when I can barely understand some of the foreign staff also. 0 -
You haven't given us enough information to comment on whether Barclays are acting unreasonably or not.
Your latest post suggests the card has been blocked for good reason, and the remedy is a new card. It also suggests that the only access you have to your account is via the card.
If you have never established telephone and/or online banking for yourself, you can't expect to use it in an emergency.0 -
I told you why the card was blocked, 02 tried to take out my bill but it was declined twice, yes I had more than enough money to cover the bill and Barlcays have confirmed that however, they still have to block the card.
It wasn't that long ago I found out however it was too late to visit a local branch as it has already closed. I am not registered to online or telephone banking, I'm screwed.
I really need cash, waiting until Monday is not an option.0 -
Why the urgency ?
Is it petrol to get to work ?
What abut asking a friend, obviously 1 you ar eon good terms with ?0
