Almost as annoying as people who try to hijack threads with their own personal pet peeves.

OP as you've flown before it's very likely the insurers MAY consider your claim as you've managed before. Really there is nothing to lose by putting in a claim -including detail that you have never experienced this level of anxiety before and it was manageable on all past flights. List previous flights with destination and dates so they can see this was unexpected and out of the ordinary for you. It seems reasonable that you booked assuming you could handle it as you've managed a ten hour flight to Vegas before now. Nothing to lose except the time to fill out the form and the cost of a stamp.

Do you have any idea what triggered the extra anxiety ? Was it a smaller plane than you are used to for example? I've flown literally all over the world but still get a touch claustraphobic on smaller planes whereas the bigger ones don't bother me at all.

Some of the fear of flying courses are really good-Might be a good investment for the future. I used to work in the travel industry and had clients who took them and for the first time ever afterwards flew without problem.

Incidently I used to work for travel insurance companies repatriating clients taken ill overseas and I have come across some insurers that would entertain this type of claim as you couldn't reasonably have known you'd have reacted that way (if you'd never flown before/had previous incidents of similar severity it would be a different matter) . Some insurers are better than others but from an MSE viewpoint worth a go claiming -the worst they can say is no.

    Good luck !

Useful info from Duchy there and as others have said, its worth asking - they worst that can happen is the insurers say no.

Sorry you had your holiday ruined that way :(

I'd add-Don't ring and ask-Just put a claim in so it gets looked at properly.
