Cannot find a job the center gave me-will I be sanctioned??

Why not just email them a speculative CV?
I'd say that's within the letter and the spirit of the requirements.0 -
Barnardo's advertise retail jobs on a separate part of website
http://www.barnardos.org.uk/get_involved/jobs.htm.
Hope this helps. If the world didn't suck we would all fall off

It is also possible that Barnado's have revised the closing date since you were given your print out and may have pulled the ad, if they have been over-run with applicants and feel that they already have enough applicants to choose from.
Job ads do sometimes disappear sooner than expected, so it is always best to apply for a position as soon as you can, just in case that happens.
It's sometimes possible to find a link to page that no longer appears on the recruiter's direct website, via a Google search, so might be worth searching on the job title + Barnados + your location, then you might be able to click into the missing Barnado's page that way. Probably a bit of a long shot, but you never know.
Good luck.0 -
I had EXACTLY this problem! I was given a print out for job for Barnados, and it just vanished online, couldn't find it anywhere. The print out had instructions to apply via website and the job just wasn't anywhere, and the JC paper even gave a long and complicated url. In the end I just said the job had already closed when the advisor asked. Maybe it's a Barnados thing??0

I didn't get sanctioned, the job centre said it was unusual and wasn't my fault. Thank-you for everyone's advice.0

Im sure they take into accounts these things happen, although all the tooing and froing on here is time you could have spent applying for other jobs surely? oh well another week you have pulled off a jc payment!0

I've e-mailed the head office. I'll try and call tomorrow, but I don't think I'll have any luck.
You really do come over in your posts as very negative. Coming on here instead of going to the Jobcentre and asking for more details, etc.
All the time you have spent on here could have been spent looking for a job."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

You're saying that they are the one who comes across negatively!?0 -
If I had gone to the JCP when I couldn't find the rotten Barnado's job they had given me it wouldn't have surprised me at all if I ended up being sanctioned for not applying for the job. You do have to be careful what you say to them otherwise (as demonstrated on here many times) you get done when you've not done anything wrong. This is what makes signing on so stressful, along with the total waste of time applying for things just to keep them quiet.0
