I had a1.7CDTI ECO 4 astra did 20k a year in it. It was a nice car to drive, fairly quick and very economical with that ECO set up and cheaper VED.
Never had a problem with DMF or anything else but I did change after 3 years. Would have happily kept it as our second car but we already had something better suite to our needs at the time.
If you do go the Astr route either way I would hav ethought the CDTI was the better option overall for all the DMF issue s reported there must be loads more without issue they are just popular/numerous cars."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop...
