anyone received lavender plants from Thompson & Morgan?

In May this year, I bought a Gardeners magazine and in it there was an offer from Thompson & Morgan for a lavender collection of 36 plants (not sure if they are tubers) for free by paying P&H charges. However, to date I have not received the plants. There was a letter from T&M to say that they have had to delay until this month (did not specify date). I wonder if any forum member has ordered this and received their lavender plants? Is T&M a reliable company? I guess, if the plants are "free", I may have to wait for a very long time!

I got the letter about a delay as well, and took it to mean that they would be delivered by the end of this month (July). I think we can expect to get small plugs - basically rooted cuttings. You will read elsewhere on this forum that experience with T&M is variable, but I think they're a basically sound company - I don't think they'll take the money and run. I've had a smaller collection of lavender plugs from them before, and managed to keep 5 out of 6 going, so even if some of the 36 on order turn up worse for wear and don't make it, I'm confident of ending up with plenty of healthy lavender plants, so it will have been worth it.

Thanks, harrys nan, for your reply. It looked like I was not alone in waiting for plants to be delivered by Thompson & Morgan.

TBH, if it was the Gardeners World offer, they are probably struggling to keep up with the demand, which combined with the wet weather would result in a delay. Take a look at this.

I wouldn't worry about T&M doing a runner with your money - they are pretty sound.

Thanks, madjackslam and floss2. Good to know that T&M will deliver when the time comes. I will wait. Agree that the weather plays a part in getting the plants ready for delivery.

Why not grow them from seed, it takes a bit longer but is not that hard.

Still waiting for mine, but yesterday received T&M's email newsletter offering "18 free lavender for just P&P £4.95".
