Sky unlimited - free wifi for subsribers?

Aparatantly if you get Sky Unlimited you can get free wifi via the cloud at McDonalds, Costa Coffee, Wetherspoons, Slug & Lettuce, Wagamama etc

Funny cos I get it free anyways & I'm not a Sky Unlimited subscriber what are they playing at? :rotfl:

You don't get it at Macdonalds, or Costa come to that. They are using O2 if I recall.
You can register with the Cloud if you are not a Sky subscriber, if you are you use your Sky ID to register onece which gives you access to a numbre of outlets.
They have an App for finding hotspots.

McD used to use the Cloud, which needed a log in every time. The O2 alternative does not (after the initial free registration). As Sky run the Cloud now, customers are not limited in time at access points, non customers get 30-20 minutes, depending on the brand being accessed (like P4u, as an example).

Adding to Buzby's reply, when you have a subscription to the Cloud (e.g. directly, via Sky, previously via O2), you are authenticated by the MAC address of the device, saving you the hassle of logging in every time you move within range of a Cloud hotspot. This automatic authentication doesn't happen when you use it for free.

I really think Sky should offer this at no extra charge to all its customers, even television-only customers, especially as they've just put up the prices. At least we'd be getting something for the extra money.
