Elevation/East-West Polish vs Sky..

I've taken back a property a couple of months ago from (very nice & good) Polish tenants.. who I knew had pointed the dish at Satellite Poland (or whatever it is called...). Tenant knew I wanted "Sky" alignment but I do not know if he re-aligned it before he left..
Plugged me Sky box in: Nuffink!! Me mate came round & pointed out (Doh!!!) that there was a cable unplugged from the dish.. kind of explains why no signal.
When I've got t'ladder out & reconnected stuff, if still no signal, does anyone know the difference (elevation or east/west..) between "Polish" satellite TV & bog-standard Sky???
Failing that, what is the direction and elevation of the Sky birds please???
Regards & thanks in advance...

The dish needs to point a few degrees further east and a fraction lower. You'll need a signal meter.0

try to get an idea where to point the dish using dishpointer com site
input your post code select 28,2e satellite / go
drag the green symbol to your dish location / zoom in
28,2e has a strong signal if you can get someone to help you watch the tv while you move the dish until you get a picture / check signal strength is good / tighten it all up
sounds complicated but its not i have put up a good few dish's this way for family .0 -
Thanks guys... just so you know, after I went up the ladder & looked the cabling was actually still intact,'twas another wire waving in the breeze... Me mate came round again, he's installed dishes in the past, eyeballed some neighbouring dishes for alignment, looked at my dish, went up ladder, yanked it round and down a bit (seriously..) had another look, minor yank to move it some more, we went back inside &, hey presto, working system. No compass, no APP on smart'phone, no meter, no tools, just brute force & guess-work...
btw my dad, borm 1903, told me when "they" (his family) first got a radio (? crystal??) the aerial was a 30foot wire up a tree in the street.. and we know what size aerial we now need for radios.. hopefully in 10-20 years time satellite TV will work with a bit of wire hung out the window,,,
Thanks everyone!!0
