DMP provider won't arrange a DMP if I don't accept their figures.

Thanks for the SOA link. I used the format give to me by NationalDebtLine. Their budget sheet has lots of break downs in there. Interestingly it also had a field for Lottery. So I put my lottery expenses against that field.
What lottery "expense"? This isn't a bill for an "expense", it isn't a club you need to remain a member of, it's not something that puts food on your table or a roof over your head. It's not even a little luxury item that makes it easier to get through the month by giving you a little treat; it's gambling, purely and simply gambling.
How many tickets do you buy a month? You must be entering every draw going! I can maybe see the attraction of entering one draw per week because you never know if you're going to be that one in 50 million that wins the jackpot, but even then it's a luxury.
With respect, any reputable DMP and any sensible lender will see that on an expenses sheet and simply assume you're not taking your debt seriously. And may well take the attitude that if you don't take your efforts to manage your debt seriously, neither should they.
Sorry to be so harsh, but you need to appreciate this.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
I clearly remember when I did my DMP (with CCCS) back in 2007. I wondered how on earth I'd manage. I did, I still do, and I've reduced my debt-free date by 4 years. It's amazing how quickly you learn to live within the budget - in fact, it's a great feeling to discover that you can do so.
One of the best things I did was to get rid of my chip and pin bank cards and get an HSBC basic account which meant I had to get money out of an ATM when I wanted something. I couldn't just hand over my card. I couldn't buy anything online. The cash I had on me was all I could spend, so no impulse buying.
The basic account still allowed me Internet banking, direct debits, standing orders etc.
Good luck! You CAN do it! (BTW, I tend to exaggerate the amount of fuel needed to run my car each month which goes into my "rainy day emergency fund").I incurred the debt, I repaid the debt - all of it!
DMP started with CCCS 20/07/2007 Was £32,735. Paid off all my creditors (June 2013) 7 yrs ahead of original DFD.

Thank you all for your inputs.
I had a long argument with the other half about the debt and how we gonna manage after a significant cost cutting in everything. However, now I have a more sensible budget sheet where we've £200 for creditors. I emailed it back to PP.
Now I've a massive expense coming up next March, which is the extension of work permit and visa. I will have to pay £2250 in visa fee and show £1500 savings in my account from December as maintenance fund for that. We calculated that we need to put aside £535/month for that. Now I'm feeling very tensed about how PP/the creditors gonna look at this.0 -
Be upfront with them, they may surprise you and allow you to reduce your instalments to pay for them.0

How much would this reduce your PayPlan/Creditor payment by?
ie. Will you still be able to make significant (or indeed any) payments to your creditors?

I would be very concerned about having adverse credit when applying for work permit's and visa's with the home office.Thank you all for your inputs.

As far as i know adverse credit rating/ccj dosnt affect the outcome of visa application. Anyway im trying heart and soul to avoid ccj. So i need to go on a DMP asap.0 -
Then why do they ask the questionAs far as i know adverse credit rating/ccj dosnt affect the outcome of visa application. Anyway im trying heart and soul to avoid ccj. So i need to go on a DMP asap.
Do you or any dependants who are applying with you have any criminal convictions in the UK or any other country (including traffic offences) or any civil judgments made against you?
A CCJ is a civil judgement. It will affect any applications for further leave to remain.:footie:

I have my wife with me, none of us have any criminal conviction/traffic offence. I meet home office's requirement so far. I dont have any civil judgement so far.0
