Peugeot 106 diesel. 15p a mile on average,
over 58,000 miles over four years. That includes the £475 for the car, £1320 spent on tax, mot,and insurance over the four years, and £1100 spent mainly on brakes and tyres, cam belt, two front seats for a tenner of ebay, new radiator, back shocks, and other bits and pieces. And an oil and filter every 6,000 miles. Not including the £175 when we scrapped it.

Rather a pointless thread really, comparing apples and pears spring to mind.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Audi A6 Avant 3.0TDI Quattro (2010) - my own not a company car...

    £85/week fuel (450 miles at 34mpg)
£33.75/week in tyres (10k miles and £500 a pair at the front, same cost but twice the life at the back)
    £7.50/week in servicing (£300 every 18k)
    £12/week insurance
    £4.80/week tax
    £150/week depreciation

Total cost = £293.05/week or about 65p a mile. I can live with that as a motoring cost... it's my only real regular luxury.

Last car was Astra F. Around 15 months of ownership.

Bought £410, tax £230ish, insurance £200, £35 for 2 tyres, £100 for another years ticket (originally had 11 months), max of another £100 for bits and bobs.

    £1070 Sold for £130 so £940.

Fuel costs. Covered around 17k miles in total ownership @ 35 MPG so around 486 gallons @ 91p a gallon (used veg oil) is £425 ish.

Thats about 8p a mile or thereabouts.

Sorry, forgot another 3 months tax and insurance. 8.6p a mile for 15 months running.

58 Plate Volvo C30 R Design Sport 1.6 with around 32k miles on the clock.

    Petrol around £85 a week.

Since I got it in January I have had to replace a transmission bearing at £275, and need a new Air Conditioning condensor which is going to cost around £600....and I think at least one front wheel bearing is on its way out which is going to cost at least a further £200 odd!

    .....@£$*&^(*)!!!!!
