given that the ACPO guideline of '10% plus 3mph' leeway are still in place you will almost certainly be offered a course.
The ACPO start of prosecution level was limit + 10% + 2mph, so you would find yourself prosecuted for 35 in a 30, or similar. This has never prevented some areas prosecuting at lower alleged speeds.
The SCP limit for a national speed awareness course was limit + 10% + 6mph, so a course would be offered for upto 39 in a 30.
Since the recent cuts in SCP funding, the parameters have been stretched so those within limit + 10% + 9mph, or 42 in a 30, are now offered a course in those areas following the national course guidelines.
It's worth remembering ACPO are merely guidelines and nothing in them is actually law. Any course offer is purely discretionary.I am a mortgage broker.
