The whole Freedoms Act has 'judicial review' written all over it.
Yes it does. But that is likely to cost upwards of £30k, and I don't think the present Mrs Bargepole would approve of me risking our children's inheritance in that way.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

Or indeed referring to her as "the present Mrs Bargepole" :)

We'll be celebrating our 36th anniversary this year, so she shouldn't feel insecure. We're also both members of the TOGS, and Terry always refers to Helen as "the present Mrs Wogan".

Terry's Old Geezers (or Gals) - the unofficial fanclub of the broadcasting legend, responsible for all those nonsensical emails that he used to read out on the breakfast show on Radio 2.

Really looking forward to how this pans out, I am glad someone is raising the issue :)
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Just bumping to keep this in people's minds ready for any update. :)

I appreciate that Bargepole won't be able to tell us certain stuff until it's OK to do so.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have now had a response from the Treasury Solicitors. It's not worth reproducing here, because it's a completely lame attempt to justify the DVLA position, and refers to "parking fines". The tea lady at the BPA could have done a better job.

I've been in contact with Tim Cary (he of the paper aeroplane fame) and barrister Tim Kevan, and the general concensus is that even if started in the county court, this would get bumped up to the High Court, and I could be looking at fees in the region of £40-£50k, plus the possibility of the other side's costs if unsuccessful.

So now I need either: A consumer-focused benefactor to underwrite the cost (have sent message to Martin Lewis), or, a completely impecunious person in whose name to submit the claim, who would qualify for legal aid.

    All suggestions welcome.
