New lawnmower
It's that time of year again where the gardening needs done, I plan on keeping on top of it more this year than in previous years. Last year the lawnmower broke and in truth it was never the most reliable anyway. I want to buy one that is gonna last and is relatively cheap. I don't want a petrol one, just a normal one. Our back garden isn't massive, more medium sized I would say but I'll be cutting it once a week.
I was planning on having a look in Focus, B&Q etc but I thought I'd ask here first. I'm wondering if I'd be able to get something online for a reasonable price too. I have a Nectar card and Quidco account if that helps
Suggestions and advice much appreciated

Hi crube,
You should get more help with this on the Greenfingered moneysaving board so I'll move your thread over there.

I have recently purchased one of these. I also have a smallish garden and the mower is perfect for the size.

I think I'm gonna go for this one, I find the Flymo's a bit bulky:-

Hi there
Why not subscribe for a 30 day free trial to which.co.uk
They have independently assessed a vast range of lawnmowers recently then you could buy confidently. You can then cancel your subscription and pay nothing. Their reports are excellent and they cover an enormous range of stuff!0 -
Hi,
I use a Husqvarna Novocut 64 Manual Lawnmower, it is a manual hand mower, so no electricity or petrol usage. I purchased it last year because we have a large garden which is part field and I wanted to get fit by pushing it!
However strangely enough I find them easier than my old flymo, I did the first cut last week and it was so easy, now I am not a very strong person, and also my 9 year old son can use it. They do not need sharpening and you don't use electricity - so have a look, I think I got mine from greenwarehouse.co.uk.
Alternatively if you have a freecycle system in your area why not see if they have any to spare.

I had one of those as my last mower. It's a cylinder so will give you a far better cut than a flymo. The roller on it isn't really heavy enough to give stripes, but for the money it's a good little mower. Ultimately, I decided I wanted something a bit better quality and went for a Classic
NB the Elan has the grass collection box at the back. It you prefer it at the front, the Qualcast Concorde is basically the same but with front collection.I really must stop loafing and get back to work...0 -
Have you seen the Nectar Sale starting today?

There is a lawnmower for 1/2 price nectar points,
can't tell you if it is any good, though, but you could search for the model online0
