Question for sellers

A couple of days back I posted about a seller who is trying to jack up the postage to 2.7 times the original after I've already payed their invoice (with postage stated).
The sale amount was $200.
If I refuse to pay and they then refuse to send the items, I raise an item not received dispute, and they still refuse to supply, will they get any of their fees back?
If not how much will they lose?
I'm trying to get an idea of how much to offer as a compromise.
I would probably have payed what they asked had they had the grace to be even the slightest bit apologetic rather than just demanding the money.
As it is I'm prepared to meet them halfway and wonder how much they will lose out on ebay fees if the sale does not go through.

they can get their final value fees back if you don't pay
they may be able to relist and get their insertion fees back if items sell next time0 -

"A couple of days back I posted about a seller who is trying to jack up the postage to 2.7 times the original after I've already payed their invoice (with postage stated)."
If a seller can refuse to supply something after a buyer has won it and payed their invoice in full, and still get back listing and final value fees, ebay is nothing but a complete and utter farce.0 -
does the seller stae why there is a change in the postage?
is it coming from within the uk?0 -
as the seller wont send , i woudnt pay any of thier fees.
they can open a dispute for none payment(trying to get fees back)
by either an mutural of none payer.
the first will get thier fees back and you will not get a strike but you have to agree to this.
the second , all you have to do is put in the paypal ref no for your payment . if you do get a strike , you can appeal which you would win.0 -

No, it's coming from Hungary, but that was accounted for in the listing.0 -

i said
"they can get their final value fees back if you don't pay"
meaning if you don't pay the extra they are asking then they can just refund your original payment and start an unpaid item dispute to get their final value fees back
i was not implying that you had not paid! i replied to your original thread so i know the details of the problem
it may have been easier for others to understand what the problem was if you had just continued with your original thread and not started a new one without giving the full details of the problemIf a seller can refuse to supply something after a buyer has won it and payed their invoice in full, and still get back listing and final value fees, ebay is nothing but a complete and utter farce.
unfortunately you cannot force a seller to sell you something if they have made an error with the p&p like you can't force a seller to sell you something that has ended for less money than they hoped to get0 -
So from what you are saying here. ebay is a complete sham from the buyer's POV.if you don't pay the extra they are asking then they can just refund your original payment and start an unpaid item dispute to get their final value fees back
A seller can list an item for a certain price and p&p, then when the buyer wins, attempt to extort further money from the buyer by upping p&p, and ebay will tamely go along with this and even give them their fees back.
I must say, I'm gobsmacked.0 -

it sounds like the seller has made an error
i am not sure of all the options for the unpaid item dispute off the top of my head but if the seller refund you i believe there is the option "buyer returned item for refund." to get their final value fees back
this option could also be used if a refund was given without items ever being sent out

So, you confirm that you are effectively saying that any seller can get out of selling an item even though the agreed price has been paid for it and the buyer still wants it by simply refunding the payment and then claiming his fees back?
And ebay are presumably quite happy with this situation?
They claim when you make the buy it now decision that you are entering a binding contract with the seller and yet happily collude when the seller refuses to honour the sale?
Ebay rules and attitude seem more and more bizarre by the day.0 -
Seller will have to open an unpaid item dispute to get his fees back. As you have paid, and can prove it by putting the paypal transaction no. in the dispute console, he won't get far, even if he refunds first.
You, on the other hand, can open a INR dispute with nothing to impede you.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0
