Impersonation of authority scam.
Tickets are written out by the trolley boy.
Ignore them, ignore all the silly letters and be warned characters in the impersonation change to fake debt collectors and fake solicitors issuing threats to take you to court and chop your ankles off (might have made the last bit up)

Thanks everyone, the notes on the thread have been very reassuring...I was coming back to the forum 2 weeks on to ask if I should at least raise a complaint with Waitrose to let them know that this was not a good customer experience and the potential illegality of the third party's tactics, and the potential brand impact to them. It seems from the feedback on the thread is that the best thing is to do nothing until it all goes away - right?0

The advice is to not contact the parking enforcement company. You should still write a complaint to Waitrose for the lack of signage0

Signage is nothing to do with the store ? signage is provided by the ppc and as stated lack of it makes the invoice even more less enforceable. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -

Don't contact the PPC at all. Tell the Waitrose Store manager that by allowing these cowboys to operate in his carpark he has lost you as a customer and that you will be advising your friends and family to boycott the store as well. Then hand him a receipt for a huge weekly shopping trip to one of his nearby competitors.0
