Beware of Tesco Phone Shop !!!!!
Over the past week, I have been trying to buy a Galaxy S3 on T-Mobile, through Tesco Phone Shop online. My first application last Saturday got "stuck" and gave Tesco an error message. The second attempt was the same. After much time and money on their 0844 number, I was told all would be sorted on Monday. I applied again on Monday. Sure enough the process seemed to be working. However, my credit was refused. On phoning T-Mobile, they told me that my first application gave me an "excellent" credit rating, but because I had to make subsequent applications, Equifax had refused due to thinking of possible fraud. I have had to spend money dealing with Equifax, but not resolved as they are slow and only deal with issues by email. Tesco had a credit authorisation from T-Mobile but could not process my order. They did not answer my complaint email sent on Monday either. The offer of free insurance is now finished, but I still can't buy a phone as Equifax will still refuse credit due to the number of searches done.
Beware of Tesco and their lack of customer care !!!!

Equifax dont approve or refuse anything - they only provide information to companies. If Tesco phone shop are turning you down then its their choice. They have made multiple searches due to the failed applications so they should sort it out.0

I had the same issue online while ordering a sim only deal. It kept saying my card wasn't authorised even though there was nothing wrong with my card. Eventually went through after I called them to order it. Nothing showed up on my credit reports, but then I already had a Tesco Mobile account so don't know if a search was done? Been smoke free for 4 years!! :beer:0

I made that mistake once too, luckily it didn't cost me that much. Now if I want anything sorted by Tesco Mobile, I just go on their website and wait for there 'would you like to talk to one of our advisers' box to appear.
Did the same when I wanted a PAC from O2 (via O2's online chat), so much easier, less hassle than using the phone and no hard sell.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
No need to use 0844 number. 0800 433 4990 option 2 will connect you.0

I had similar problems with Tesco Mobile but in my case they debited my card each time I tried to order the phone. Even phoning Tesco didn't sort it out so I ended up having to claim the money from my bank who, in turn, must have claimed it back from Tesco. I'm now a happy Giffgaff customer.

My problem has still not been resolved. They offered to add free insurance if I bought the phone through Telesales. I contacted them to be told that they cannot process deals that have an upfront handset cost. I was then told to go to Tesco in-store Phone Shop. I travelled 22 miles to have my credit refused again due to original problem between Tesco and T-Mobile.
Hence no phone, out of pocket and credit being refused !0
