  • I'm doing well with FB sales - £50 in my purse already with a further £55 awaiting collection :T

Did a little better at the gym class yesterday and I'm quite high on the waiting list for tomorrow so fingers crossed. I've submitted a complaint to Head Office as I've been a member for many years (and pay the full fee) so I think I can expect to be able to get a place in the class (and a parking spot).

A little more decluttering was achieved. A friend has lots of boxes from her recent house move which she has offered me so I'm hoping to pick those up Friday. There was always lots of box recycling going on at my part time job so I shall pop down there and see what's available at some stage.

We were introduced to several skills at WI last night including egg blowing :rotfl: I was very excited about it :o having never blown an egg before and feel I was sufficiently proficient to add it to the list of competencies on my CV :rotfl:

Went for a drink with a friend after the meeting. Had a jolly good catch up and she bought the drinks so a good night all round. We didn't realise the time until 10 to 12  Mr F was not impressed with me being out so late on a school night. I felt just like a teenager again :rotfl:

Mr F has a big meeting in London today and charmed another £20 out of me before he left :o I've already deducted it from the non-refundable business expense budget for the month ;)

I must do some housework today - the linen basket is regurgitating pants  We have some friends coming on Saturday for a Valentine's supper and they might stay over so I should at least dust :o

    Happy Hump Day

  • You are doing great on FB sales. A question if I may? Are you comfortable giving your details to strangers for collecting items? Have you done it before?
    Thank you :)

Hi DIA - a little uncomfortable, yes. But I don't ask people in further than the porch (and then only if it's raining :rotfl:) and I figure I'd be giving out those details with Fleabay sales too. I sell on a members only site and, if a buyer messages you about an item, you can then look at their page to see if they're genuine. Dodgy geezers are usually flagged up on the site by others so I think it's a small risk. My buyers have all been lovely so far - young mums looking for bargains mainly.

    Hope that helps

Quite a bit got done today:
    • did 4 loads of washing. I can see the bottom of Mr F's washing basket now :rotfl: Mine is another matter but that will have to wait until I can free up some drying space
    • an FB sales item was collected - £10 in my pocket. Feeling very cash rich at the moment
    • added another 3 items to the FB site. One has sold already :T
    • food shopping arrived - exactly £1 over budget but we are entertaining at the weekend so that can come out of the fun money
    • I am doing a Valentine's supper on Saturday for some good friends. Feeling very smug because I managed to find a use for the Candy Canes we had leftover from Christmas. I'll try and post a photo
    • Smoked Haddock with Celeriac & Spinach is in the oven. I haven't made this recipe before so it'll be interesting to see how it turns out

    Have a good evening

Thanks for the selling advice. I just sold an old mattress. Really pleased as it was a bulky, house cluttering item and now I have space and I have paid £20 to debt. It's addictive! Thanks as your selling was part of why I decided to do it myself :)

Just noticed on your thread DIA. Well done. Very rewarding to clear the clutter and make money. I'm trying the Marie Kondo approach so anything that doesn't spark joy or make me feel lighter is going ;)

Thank you Beanie. I am feeling quite pleased with myself :o They were so easy and only took a few minutes to do. I'm going to serve them with coffee at my Valentines supper on Thursday.

I'm also going to keep them in mind for little gifts when required - I think they'd look lovely in a little cellophane bag with some ribbon.

Most smug because I bought candy canes for stockings and the tree at Christmas and no one ever eats them. Was feeling that I'd wasted money on them but they've come in handy after all.

I made some bigger ones for the friend I'm meeting on Friday. She's going to give me all her proper removal boxes and doesn't want anything for them so it's just a little thank you.

Now I need to find something to do with all the fondant icing in my freezer :rotfl:
